課程概述 |
The purpose of this objective is to develop students’ academic research skills. Students will learn and discuss the nature of academic research and how to formulate, conceptualize and conduct a research project. In addition, students will develop their critical thinking skills through the process of paper reviews and presentation. |

Class Participation |
30% |
Students are expected to attend all seminar sessions on time. Students are expected to read all papers prior to the class. In assigning the class participation grade, the lecturer will take into account: 1) seminar attendance; and 2) quantity and quality of comments contributed in the class. |

Paper Review |
35% |
Each student will be assigned a paper to review. Students will have an opportunity to “practice” the review before submitting this assignment. For “practices”, students will review a paper submitting to an IS journal. Once completing the review, they can compare their reviews with the actual comments from the journal reviewers. |
3. |
Reading Discussion |
35% |
Each student will have a responsibility of leading a class discussion on the assigned. For this task, student will need to provide a one-page synopsis and lead the discussion on the assigned paper. Students should prepare the synopsis and distribute to the classmates in the discussion session. The structure of the discussion will include a 15- minute presentation on the synopsis and lead the class discussion on that paper. |
